We run a Windows 2008 R2 VM on local workstations for software demonstrations of various web applications served up via IIS (including SharePoint) which also has a valid SSL cert installed (issued from GoDaddy).
We have noticed that when this VM does not have internet access and we try to access these sites (locally in the VM) the applications takemuch longer to respond compared to when this VM does have access to the internet.
After a bit of research we're pretty positive using HTTPS is to blame for this slowness. I found some articles on CRL verfication and wondering if this is part of the problem and also noticed errors in the event log regardingthe revocation unable to check because the recovation server is offline.
Anyone have any thoughts on how we can get around this issue other than completely removing the SSL cert and not using HTTPS when this machine does not have an internet connection?
Thanks!
