Hi,
I work at a school where students have found they have the ability to run VB scripts and are using this to annoy other students by making DVD drives open, or playing music files on a loop. My concern is that there could be physical damage caused to the machines with the DVD drives being forced open, and more importantly, that it could turn out to be a major security threat.
We run vbs scripts at login, so outright blocking them will not work for us. I was wondering if AppLocker would work effectively for blocking the running of .vbs files when not run through group policy at login? If so, how would I accomplish this (assuming that the students are able to gain access to C: where our login VB scripts are located).
Thanks in advance,
Jon Davies
