I'm trying to implement a feature associated with a password management tool (PIM Suite by CyberArk) and the feature keeps abending. CyberArk support has indicated that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) may be causing the feature to abend. I have limited exposure to DEP and don't know how to tell if DEP is causing the abend. I like to know how Windows 2008 R2 handles an application that triggers DEP. I've seen articles discussing DEP reporting but they don't apply to Windows 2008 R2. Can you please refer me to Microsoft documentation which details whether events are logged in the Windows event log or if an alternative method of alerting is performed when DEP is triggered on a Windows 2008 R2 system.
