Windows 2008R2 in DMZ and local account logins

We have a Windows 2008R2 server located in our DMZ.  Actually, we have 4 servers in the DMZ.  All but one of the servers is accessible using local credentials via RDP.   However, we have one that is acting very oddly.   Depending on the originating computer and its subnet location, it can be accessed via RDP but login fails or succeeds based on the subnet computer.

We get the login prompt always but on selected originating subnet computers, the RDP login connection fails

So, for example:

on Subnet 1 computer....login prompt received, login fails with Credential A

on Subnet 2 computer....login prompt received, login succeeds with Credential A

Any idea what would cause this.   Btw...local Windows Firewall is disabled on this computer in the DMZ, altho I suspect it is not a local firewall issue anyway since RDP works on some originating computers and not others.

ps.  just discovered that if we restart the server, the Windows Firewall resets itself.  So, we have to go back in to disable it after every restart.
