How to set permissions so that users can not browse top folders and only access their own folders?

I am not looking for shared folders but rather a way with NTFS permissions that allows single users to have FULL access to certain subfolders on a drive and not be able to list, read, or see any of the top folders.

e.g. Mike deals with Sales department and only with archives of 2012.

Q:\Sales\2012

Q:\Sales\2013

Q:\Finances\2012

Q:\Finances\2013

Q:\Secret_Folder\

So, I want Mike to be able to work within Q:\Sales\2012\ but when he tries to go to top folder like \Sales\ or Q:\ I want him to get stopped due to no permissions. But I want him to be able to Delete, and Modify contents of files/subfolders within Q:\Sales\2012.

Please detail me as to what the permissions should be on Q:\ drive itself and then the subsequent folders for this to work. I definitely don't want Mike to know there is a Secret_Folder.

OS: Windows 2008 R2

***I can provide users with direct shortcut to their folders

Much appreciated.
