I have recently been tasked the duty of developing and implementation of our update and patch policy for our 400+ server environment. It's a mixed environment consisting of 2k3 to 2k12 severs. We have not been applying many patches in our production
environment for fear of breaking a process or application. We do have a DEV environment that we could test some things in, but unfortunately its really nothing like our production environment. Could i consider the UCE tool as an effective means of mitigating
the risk of applying patches and updates? If not, is there something else that would be recommended. We will be using BigFix for applying the patches and such, but we need to be sure there is nothing that can break in the process. Any advice would be helpful.
