I have posted this a few times and see no answers. We use outbound Microsoft firewall for security reason. We like controlling which apps on the computers can communicate out to the internet. I will usually setup rules for specific programs, ports, or even destinations to allow traffic. This works fine, except for 2 areas. The first is programs installed in the "Users" directory. Google Chrome, dropbox, and a few others have issues as the windows firewall has problems with apps installed in the users directory. The second is metro applications. Since they are not normal .exe programs, etc I do not know how to create a firewall rule for them to be able to work. If any of you guys have any ideas, besides lowering the outbound firewall, let me know.
