We have working RRAS (Windows 2003 Standard R2) and Enterprise Certification Authority (Windows 2003 Standard R2). We configured RRAS remote access policy to support EAP-TLS.
When we configure client to "Smart Card or other certificate" (EAP-TLS) we get the following error when starting VPN client:
Cannot load dialog.
Error 798: A certificate could not be foundthat can be used with this Extensible Authentication Protocol
The Windows has a valid user certificate with right attributes. Same error occurs on Windows XP and 7.
Note that the above error is given "before" even attempting connection. Therefore it looks very much like Windows local problem.
We have tried almost everything. The User certificate is issued via Web Enrollment - User certificate.
The certificate looks to fulfil all requirements from this document: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;814394
Any solution to that problem? Could it be the fact that we used Win2003 Standard edition for Enterprise Certification Authority role?
