Migrating File Shares To New Server

We're preparing to migrate our file server from Windows 2008 to Server 2012. We're connected to our storage via iSCSI so we're planning on migrating a volume at a time to get the files visible on the new server.

We plan on migrating the share information over from the old server by exporting and importing information from the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanServer\Shares. We done some tests and it seems to work like a charm.

We did notice that there's a sub-key under Shares, on the source server, called Security, that we did not import into the new server's registry. It appears to have the same share names but the values are REG_BINARY. The NTFS and Share permissions look perfect without these values on the new server. What's are we missing without the Security key in this registry hive?
