Best Practice to stop User Enumeration

Hello -

I am a SQL Server DBA. My understanding of Best Practices is to disable NetBIOS and Server Message Block to stop Anonymous User Enumeration.

However, recently I found the Local Policies--Security Options--Network Access:Do not allow Anonymouse enumeration of SAM Accounts settings.

Is there any point to disabling NetBIOS/SMB if I can just set this value to Disabled? Which one is the better option?
